15 Places of Interest in Seoul, South Korea

15 Places of Interest in Seoul, South Korea

1. Changdeokgung Palace

The superb and artistic gate of Changdeokgung welcomes the arrival of ordinary tourists including us. Tourists who come to Seoul just to visit famous places only. This time it is not wrong to be a layman. New at the gate alone I was very amazed by the design is made with great detail.
Once entering the palace area, the atmosphere of ancient Korea so felt. The ancient houses (hanok) and some kind of ancient settlement inside the palace remind me of ancient settlements in ancient Java. This area of the palace entered World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO.

2. Huwon Secret Garden
The location of Huwon Secret Garden is still one location with Changdeokgung Palace. We must go guided tour accompanied by a guide in this park. Can not walk freely alone. His tour was only done at certain hours, make sure see the hours listed in the entrance ticket yes.

3. Bukchon Hanok Village
This is an ancient village in Seoul that is still preserved. The hanok contrast scene (traditional Korean house) with the Seoul skyscraper background really made me fall in love with Seoul. It is felt that the change of civilization of the past to present Seoul. Make sure to bring a drink while visiting this village, the road uphill and make eek tired.

4. Gyeongbokgung Palace
This palace is very grand. What amazed me was that in 1395 people could make the palace with its magnificent design with detail. Though there is no computer yet. Gyeongbokgung seems to be the main destination of tourists when in Seoul. Its location is very strategic is very supportive anyway. It would be more exciting to visit this palace while watching the attractions of the castle guards following:

5. National Folk Museum of Korea
The museum is shaped like a pagoda is still a location with Gyeongbokgung Palace. If you want to see the life of ordinary Korean people of ancient times, the National Folk Museum of Korea is the place. Oh yes, the traditional Korean house in the museum area reminds me of a traditional Javanese house. It seems that Korea has one cultural root similar to Java.

6. Gwanghwamun Square
Gwanghwamun Square is a park right in front of Gyeongbok Gung. One of Seoul's most beautiful sides. The park in the middle of the city is surrounded by multi-story buildings, reminding me of Central Park in New York City. Lie in the garden, gazing up at the sky, surrounded by Seoul metropolis skyscrapers, in front there is a Gyeongbokgung palace with the backdrop of Mount Bukaksan. Ah, really bad.

7. Cheonggyecheon Stream & Cheonggye Plaza
Cheonggyecheon Stream is a small stream in the middle of a fairly long city. If you have a lot of time, please follow this river while looking at the activities of Koreans who relax anymore, jogging, courting, reading books, and so forth. If it's time to mepet, just go to the mainstream, Cheonggye Plaza to see the rainbow bridge.

8. Insadong
Insadong is one of the shopping and culinary areas. Here are also many art galleries, handicrafts, and so on. Because looking for a place to eat recommended Bimbimbap, accidentally instead directed to Insadong. In fact, there is no plan to come to Insadong because it is not included in the itinerary. Not bad, can spend time in a place kece.

9. N Seoul Tower

N Seoul Tower is often also referred to as Namsan Tower, Namsan Seoul Tower, or Seoul Tower. This tower looks so clear from any angle in Seoul because it is located on a hilltop Namsan. Tower built in 1969 has a height of about 237m, almost twice the height of monument monument. If not idle-nganggur very, mending does not rise to the top of his tower. Ngantri up and down it makes lazy!

10. Myeong Dong

Myeong Dong is a hub of shopping, shopping and culinary in Seoul. After descending from Namsan Seoul Tower, it would be better to go here one route. Also, Myeong Dong at night was pleasant. Crowds ala metropolis so deh.

I was so crowded and the extent of Myeong Dong, I got to googling what is interesting in Myeong Dong. What do you mean really dependable there? After reading some articles, I was not very interested and would rather enjoy the night in Myeong Dong while trying some street food along the shopping area. Lots of street food and restaurant choices in Myeong Dong. Uenak-uenak all audiences!

11. Seoul Station

Seoul Station is similar to Blok M, a hub for bus majors everywhere. Here there are Lotte malls and several other shopping centers. Lots of choices of hangouts here. Same is like the Blok M.

12. Banpo Bridge

When I saw the pictures of Banpo Bridge on the internet, I was not very interested. What the hell is just a bridge so doang. But because the night did not know where to go, and Banpo Bridge is included in the travel itinerary list, I went to it.
The first preoccupation of Banpo Bridge is a rainbow fountain show at certain hours between 12.00 and 21.00. If you miss this fountain show, enjoy the area is also fun. Believe me, the original view of the Banpo Bridge that cross the Han River is better than the original photos circulating on the internet.

13. Gangnam Style Hand Statues

Gangnam Style song sung by Psy indeed had shocked the world to discuss some years ago. Because Gangnam area is very wide as the extent of a district, I was confused and wondered "Where the hell is the usual place visited by tourists in Gangnam?"
Yes, time is not friendly to explore all areas of Gangnam. Mepet really. Are you sure you want to explore one 'district' Gangnam in one day? Imposibru right?
Finally I look for Gangnam icon. Especially if it is not a stylish hand-statue style Gangnam his Psy. Understandably, the mainstream tourists are looking for things that are mainstream.

14. Wearing Hanbok

Hanbok is a traditional Korean dress. Lots of Hanbok rentals in Seoul. Not only Korean people who wear Hanbok, foreign tourists are also many who rent / buy Hanbok and take pictures in the tourist area in Seoul. I still tried Hanbok when there was a Korean cultural festival in Jakarta. So somewhat less interested for now trying Hanbok. Mending money to a culinary tour in Seoul.

A tourist spot for Korean drama fans "Winter Sonata". The island seems to be the main destination of Indonesian tourists when traveling to Seoul. Almost all my friends who go to Seoul make Nami Island as the main tourist destination. I myself did not include Nami Island in my itinerary. Why? Once again I'm not a fan of Korean dramas. Also, a trip to Nami Island took me a whole day to sacrifice my time to go elsewhere. There too 'just' see the pine trees in Indonesia are also many. What about the "Winter Sonata" scene monument? Unless I have a lot of time in Seoul, I can go to Nami island.
