Please note, that the Shinkansen platform is different from other trains. And not all stations will be bypassed by shinkansen. Usually, the name of the station that opens the shinkansen route is the word 'shin' in front of it. Such as Shin-Osaka Station, Shin-Aomori, Shin-Asahikawa, and so forth.

Tokkyu / Limited Express

This type of train is the fastest train but not the type of shinkansen and commonly abbreviated as LTD.EXP. Stop at major stations in Japan and usually have names according to train routes. For example, Super Asuza, Limited Express Nanki, and others.
